HBO Sports will air the event.

WATCH ADONIS STEVENSON vs CHAD DAWSON

LIVE BOXING

Dawson(31-2, 17 KO’s) will be looking to get back in the win column after his nightmarish dip down to Super Middleweight where he was dropped several times and finally stopped via TKO in 10 rounds by Andre Ward in September of 2012, and successfully defend his belt for the second time. Meanwhile, the Haitian-born Adonis “Superman” Stevenson(20-1, 17 KO’s) is coming off of an avenged sole loss to Darnell Boone. Stevenson repaid Boone for his previous TKO loss by knocking him out in six rounds with a vicious left uppercut that was followed by a stinging straight left that left Boone face-down on the canvas and out. Style-wise, you have two southpaw stance fighters with Chad having a couple of inches of height advantage and 5 years of youth over Stevenson. WATCH
Stevenson would beat someone like Boone, but Stevenson likes to slug and that’s not something you want to do against the powerful Boone. Dawson, 30, had been hoping to get a rematch against former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal, who beat Dawson by a 11th round technical decision three years ago in August 2010, but Pascal has opted to face former IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute on May 25th in a battle between two Canadian based fighters.

[[[ IBF welterweight ]]]]Watch Lee Purdy vs Devon Alexander

British welterweight contender Lee Purdy (20(13)-2-1) has been confirmed as Devon Alexander’s new opponent on May 18th after fellow Matchroom sports stablemate Kell Brook had to pull out with a foot injury. As we told you here first, Purdy was named the surprise choice after IBF #3 Kevin Bizier declined the offer, citing a lack of preparation time. Purdy was next in line, and the fight was easily made between Eddie Hearn in the UK and Golden Boy promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. The fight will be the co-feature to the Lamont Peterson versus Lucas Matthysse duel shown live on SKY in the UK and Showtime in the US. Schaefer was obviously relieved after the doomed fight faced its fourth major postponement/injury a the start of this week. Brook will apparently still face the winner of Alexander versus Purdy duel, which is taking place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, this fall. “Devon will be fighting his mandatory against Lee Purdy,” Schaefer told ESPN late last night. “He was the next available contender based on the IBF rankings. He is promoted by Eddie Hearn. We agreed on the deal. The fight is on.”

Saturday May 18, Bloody Elbow presents live fight coverage of Lamont Peterson vs. Lucas Matthysse, presented live by Showtime Boxing. Matthysse vs Peterson airs this Saturday, May 18 live on Showtime with a fight time of 9:00 p.m. ET. Bloody Elbow will have live fight night coverage, including results and discussion. WATCH LIVE!!!Matthysse vs Peterson live WATCH Peterson and Matthysse may not quite bring the same degree of name value as some recent fights, but for the boxing enthusiasts out there, this one is a much watch. Both men are highly ranked in the talent-rich junior welterweight division. Ring magazine has them at #1 and #2, behind only champion Danny Garcia. That should be reason enough alone to care, but as an added bonus, Showtime is really pushing the idea that the winner here will meet Garcia to complete an unofficial 4 man tournament that began with Garcia vs. Zab Judah. Either Garcia vs. Peterson or Garcia vs. Matthysse would be an excellent fight - let's hope Showtime makes it happen later this year.
Looking at these two men and the way their styles pair up makes it hard to pick a winner. Peterson is building on the strong momentum he started in late 2011 when he defeated Amir Khan by decision. He's since had just one fight - a win last year over Kendall Holt. Matthysse's rise to the top has perhaps been a bit quieter, without a name like Khan on his resume, but he's been a very active fighter, going 4-0 in the time Peterson has fought just once. Matthysse comes in here off an impressive first round lights-out KO of Mike Dallas, Jr. in January (watch that fight here). In the end, this is a pick 'em between two of the division's absolute elite, setting up an even bigger battle. Put that all together, and you have an absolute must watch fight. Opening the broadcast will be Devon Alexander vs. Lee Purdy. Purdy steps in on one month's notice as a replacement for Kell Brook, who went down to injury. That change should make this a relatively easy win for Alexander. Most Welcome to all viewers watch and enjoy Robert Guerrero vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. live Boxing On Saturday, May 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather (43-0) will square off against Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero (31-1-1) for the WBC and vacant The Ring Welterweight Championships. Who ya got? Floyd Mayweather Robert Guerrero
Robert Guerrero vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. live
Submit Vote vote to see results This is a battle that many fans of the sport did not expect, but after beating Andre Berto in his previous fight, Guerrero has proven to the boxing community and The Money Team that he is a viable opponent. While Mayweather will enter this fight heavily favored—Money comes in at -800 while The Ghost sits at +500 (h/t BoDog)—there is no doubt that Guerrero will not go down without a fight. This is shaping up to be one of the best bouts of 2013.
 INFORMATION :
Mayweather's WBC welterweight title
Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV
When: Saturday, May 4 at 9 p.m. EST
Undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather takes on Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero this Saturday, May 4, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The 12-round battle will be Mayweather’s first of the six-fight television deal he signed earlier this year with Showtime and CBS. The bout will be produced and distributed by Showtime PPV. The burgeoning storylines of this increasingly interesting throwdown will soon burst forth from prefight promise into real-time action on Saturday’s blue canvassed crucible. Both Robert Guerrero and Floyd Mayweather believe in their ability to win fights.
These guys are world class. One does not get to the pinnacle of his profession lacking a strong belief in what he does and how he does it. For Guerrero, though, this fight is more than that. The headstrong Christian believes he’s on a mission from God. He stated (via The Ring): Robert Guerrero is again the aggressor. He's able to land a bit more in this round, as his desperation level goes up and Mayweather begins to use his legs a little less. It's not clear at this point whether Floyd is beginning to tire due to the rough style of the fight or if he's simply looking to make more of the fight.
Mayweather lands pretty much at will, whenever he chooses to let his hands go. And that's a lot in this round. Most of Guerrero's shots are off the mark, but when he does land, Floyd gives him a little smile as if to say you got me. Money simply doesn't respect Guerrero's power, but he is slowing down a tad. The accumulation of punches to non-scoring areas has reduced his hand speed just a bit. Those elbows and hands must be hurting, and Floyd has had a history of hand problems, but it doesn't show as he closes the round out with a flurry that brings the crowd to its feet.
